AT Field has just concluded two consecutive advanced certification update courses taught by Ms. GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®: "Cardiovascular and Respiratory Medicine 2 & 3". As the accompanying translator for the seven days of classes, I have been filled with excitement that I cannot stop.
On the afternoon of the second day of the course, the instructor, Jackson Kellogg, pulled me aside and asked, "My teaching method this time deviated somewhat from orthodoxy. What feedback have the students given?"
"Excellent! Thank you for listening to my needs and adjusting the teaching logic and methods of the training course. This allows the trainees to clearly understand the logic and intent behind the course's design. In this way, these teachers can convey their experiences and feelings to the trainees."
As an organization organizing training courses, we need to consider market demand. Currently, the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® exercise service market is dominated by equipment-based courses, with relatively few opportunities for GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructors to teach mat-based courses. Mat-based GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® courses specifically focused on breathing are even rarer. Given this low market demand, organizing a complete, three-stage, 10-day cardiovascular and respiratory course presents a significant challenge.
To determine the effectiveness of the cardiovascular and respiratory course, I decided to experience it for myself firsthand. So, in May 2025, I flew to Greece and completed the entire training course with the instructor, Jackson. What surprised me was that I did intense aerobic exercise, but I didn't feel particularly out of breath or tired. On the contrary, I felt incredibly clear and sharp. And I absolutely hate aerobic exercise!
I immediately decided: This set of cardiovascular breathing exercises is effective! This training course is a must, and there is definitely market demand for it. After reflection, the general public's response to the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Breathing Course has been lukewarm, probably because the instructors who have attended the training courses don't know how to transform the content of several days of professional training courses into one hour of practice per week; and how to guide students to experience and perceive internal changes.
Thanks to "that man," Jackson, for his willingness to listen, think, and step out of the comfort zone of standardized teaching. He meticulously guided teachers to understand their own bodies, comprehend the logic of curriculum design, and encouraged everyone to explore their own teaching possibilities.
What touched me most was the abundant positive feedback from the teachers both during and after the course. They not only felt they had benefited greatly, but were also eager to bring the techniques back to the classroom, and found that students' performance had significantly improved, resulting in excellent feedback.
As a training platform, I am proud of the results of this cardiovascular and respiratory course! Thank you all for giving AT Field this opportunity to accompany you on your journey of teacher development. We look forward to your continued guidance in the days to come.
