Before I started using GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®, my body was always very stiff, and I could only move in a few rigid patterns. Although I had tried some physical development exercises, I couldn't get into them at all. Therefore, I started looking for a physical training method that would definitely be effective as long as I followed it. That's how I found GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®.
When I first encountered GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®, even just spending five minutes a day practicing very basic mat GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® movements, my back pain, which had plagued me for over ten years, miraculously disappeared. I was overjoyed and, as if I had found a treasure, began to practice it every day.
A year passed like this. One day, I suddenly found that my body was experiencing an unprecedented sense of stability and relaxation, and my mental state had become gentle, relaxed, and secure. I was surprised. I really was just practicing as much as possible according to the instructions, and many times the movements were still not quite standard, but even so, GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® had brought about a major transformation in my body.
Being relaxed is crucial for acting. When the body is relaxed, emotions can flow freely, and the body can be molded like clay into the form required by the character. But relaxation is something that seems easy but is actually incredibly difficult and not something that can be taken for granted. GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® has been a tremendous help to me in becoming more and more relaxed.
In addition, GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® has indeed greatly enhanced my awareness and control over my own body, and the level of my sensory perception has also increased accordingly. And sensory perception is, of course, a very important ability for a performer.
The mastery of many skills actually requires getting the whole person into the right state. Although GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®'s training may not seem to be directly aimed at performance, it can effectively prepare the performer for the pre-performance state.
