Teacher Yi-An's Gentle Exercise Relaxation Course

Faculty Introduction
Introduction

After graduating from the Department of Physical Therapy and Assistive Technology at Yangming University, Ms. Yi-An worked at Shin Kong Teaching Hospital as a clinical physical therapist and clinical instructor. She later moved to Shanghai as the manager of a rehabilitation center. During her career as a physical therapist, she sought to broaden her understanding of movement and help clients reintegrate fully into their daily lives after injuries, which led her to Chanju (a type of exercise). While teaching and training, she experienced the comfort and positive changes Chanju brings to the body. Therefore, in recent years, she has focused on promoting Chanju instruction and integrating it with rehabilitation, currently primarily teaching Chanju equipment and mat exercises. Ms. Yi-An has five years of Chanju teaching experience and continues to receive advanced training and further education in Taiwan, Shanghai, Germany, and around the world. Based on her understanding of human movement development and experience in pain management, Ms. Yi-An excels at observing the details of students' movements. Her vivid instruction and diverse teaching methods are among her most popular features.

Course Introduction
Course

GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® is a movement system developed in response to dancers' injuries and pain. The most important spirit of this system is to restore comfort to the body; a key goal for instructors is for students to feel "comfortable" after each GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® class. In this series of 10 lessons, teacher Yi-An will start with different body parts, sharing GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® movements that can strengthen the painful areas, providing simple explanations of the relevant skeletal structure, and guiding students to feel their own bodies, gradually building self-awareness. The teaching content and movements of this series are suitable for beginners, those with sub-optimal health, and students who want to gain a deeper understanding of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® movements.
